YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. GIACOMO’S GOT ANSWERS.
00. WHAT IS THE SECRET OF WORLD PEACE?
Better pizza. You’re welcome.

01. WHAT IS YOUR WORK PHILOSOPHY?
I am interested in creating emotionally engaging, concept-driven work that is embodied in beautiful forms. I always try to approach the process in a playful way, with a sense of humor. I want people who view my work to experience or feel something, whether it makes them think, brings them joy, or offers them inspiration. I always aim to create functional work that achieves my clients’ goals. You’re welcome.

02. THIS QUESTION WAS REMOVED.
You’re welcome.

03. WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I am currently in Italy due to the Coronavirus emergency. In the past decade I lived and worked in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and Indonesia - it was a (re)evolution of emotions, ideas and inspirations. Like everyone I have traveled a long way before I could excel at my own maturity. It was a process of experimentation to find my signature move and I’ve honed my skills to focus on what I do best: (re)building brands and finding solutions to connect brands with their target audience. You’re welcome.

04. WHAT IS SUCCESS? IS SUCCESS
IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Success is of course relative to every person’s expectations and goals. As humans, we’re driven by nature to seek security, acceptance, and love. Some of us find this in money, others in a career, others in love or marriage or children, and some others in friends and family. You could seemingly “have it all” to the outside world, yet constantly feel unsatisfied, always wanting more. You can be poor but feel you “have it all” because you have a loving family, a good job, and great friends. It doesn’t really matter how much or little you have, it’s a state of mind. Personally, for me, success means options. It means getting to a place in my career where I can turn down work when a client doesn’t have the proper budget or timeline. It means I can choose how and where to spend my time. It means I can take a month to explore a personal project if I want to, without financial worries. You’re welcome.
05. WHAT’S EXCITING ABOUT WORKING ON BRANDING PROJECTS IN PARTICULAR? Branding is about understanding my client, their culture and creating a language that expresses their values and can also speak to their audiences. Most of my clients specialize in different fields and have unique goals and values. It’s exciting that I have such diverse clients, as I get to study different disciplines and cultures. You’re welcome.

06. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
I don’t believe I have a singular style with my client work; I like to work flexibly and choose the style that makes most sense for each client’s brand personality and goals. I believe that powerful and compelling communication can transform brands, give shape to extraordinary stories and make positive impacts. You’re welcome.

07. I’VE GOT FIFTY BUCKS. WILL YOU DESIGN ME A LOGO?
No. You’re welcome.

08. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT NEW CHALLENGES?
I get bored rather easily, so I love new challenges. I am uncomfortable being too comfortable. I prefer taking on a project in which something is new, whether a client from a different country and culture or a new medium I’ve never worked for. When there is something new I get a bit of anxiety, and that pushes me to do my best and makes the work better. You’re welcome.

09. WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
What I love about my life is that every day is different, so I don't have a typical day. One day I can be art directing commercial photo shoots, make the content strategy for my clients the next day, or working on my side projects. I usually wake up between 6-7am and leave working by 6:30 or 7pm. I never work late into the night, I think that's a bad habit that generally does not add to productivity, at least for me. You’re welcome.

10. HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
Slippery, aloof and impeccably prepared. You’re welcome.
11. CAN YOU MAKE THE LOGO BIGGER?
Yes, I can but only if you insist. You’re welcome.

12. WHAT ARE THOSE GREEN SENTENCES AT THE END OF EACH PAGE?
I’m an avid reader and an incessant collector of words, phrases and fragments and I use them in my personal projects. There is internal logic at play that the choice to pluck a sentence or not cannot be declared very rational, I guess. Even my own internal logic changes with space and time. You’re welcome.
13. THIS QUESTION WAS REMOVED. You’re welcome.

14. I AM INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH YOU, HOW DO WE GET STARTED?
I love welcoming new people into my world, so please take off your shoes, grab a cup of coffee and say hi via email. You’re welcome.

15. WHY ARE YOU SO KEEN ON PERSONAL PROJECTS?
I feel they are mini universities and multiple universes for my brain. They’re an opportunity to learn new skills and developing an horizontal perspective. Also, of course, a personal project give me more freedom and control. You’re welcome.

16. WHERE IS THE PLACE TO BE?
Here. You’re welcome.

17. ARE THESE FAQS A WASTE OF TIME?
From one perspective, yes. On another, you could argue that they comprise a valid alternative to sticking your nose to your Instagram feed or waiting for that message on Tinder. You’re welcome.

18. I GET A LOT OF EMAILS FROM STRANGERS EXPLAINING THAT THEY FIND ME VERY ATTRACTIVE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Take a chance. Believe in love. You’re welcome.

19. IS LIFE REALLY TOO SHORT?
Nope, but it goes super fast. You’re welcome.
